Cedar Valley Medical Clinic has a team of Certified Family Nurse practitioners, including Brett E. Robbins, Jamie E. Cox and Trevor J. Peterson. We work with most major insurance plans, and offer a visit discount for patients without insurance —ask us for details. We also have same day appointments available and accept walk-ins (as provider availability allows). We work with infants, children, adolescents, adults and older adults. From physicals to skin care and women’s health, we care for you from head to toe.
Brett is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner as well as the founder and owner of Cedar Valley Medical Clinic. He started a career in nursing in 1982 and graduated from the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center as an LPN in 1983. He then graduated from Weber State College with an Associate of Science in Nursing in 1986. In 1989 he obtained a BSN from Weber State University’s first Bachelor of Science degree program. He advanced his career with a Master of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University in 1992. Brett founded Cedar Valley Medical Clinic over 20 years ago and has been providing exceptional care to the Southern Utah community ever since.
Professional and Leadership positions have included: intensive and critical care experience, assistant professor positions, and Director of Allied Health programs for the Weber State University extension- Uintah Basin Applied Technical College which included: Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, EMT, Paramedic and the Associate Degree Nursing program. He is also proud to have served his country in the United States Army Medical Core with one deployment during Desert Storm. He received the Army Commendation Medal “for Meritorious Achievement in Support of Operation ‘Desert Shield/Storm’”.
He and his wife Julie are happily married and together have 8 children. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family, friends and their two dogs. Brett has many hobbies and interests including carpentry, floral arrangements, stained glass work and of course riding his motorcycles.
Trevor Peterson is Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He is a Southern Utah native, and moved to Cedar City in 2009 to attend Southern Utah University after graduating from Panguitch High School. While at SUU he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and since 2014, worked as Registered Nurse at the Cedar City Hospital Emergency Department. He attended the University of South Alabama where he graduated with his Master of Science in Nursing in 2020.
He believes patient care involves a holistic approach, focusing mental, emotional, and physical health equally. He focuses on disease prevention and strives to emphasize the benefits that healthy choices and an active lifestyle have in optimizing overall health. He actively listens and provides education to his patients and families to help them achieve their healthcare goals. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors, whether it is spending time at the lake or in the mountains with his wife Amber and their two kids.
Brittany L Houston is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She was born and raised in Southern Utah and attended Dixie State College, and Southern Utah University, where she graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2010. After gaining experience in home health, labor & delivery, women's & newborn care, NICU, pain management, infusion services, and conscious sedation, she returned to school to obtain a Master's of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University.
Brittany enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and especially loves supporting them in making medical decisions that are right for them. She believes in listening with intent and delivering individualized care for each person.
Brittany and her husband Whit reside in Cedar City and have a busy family of six children. She has enjoyed coaching a local high school cheerleading team for the past 14 years and also loves to travel, organize, scrapbook, and spend time with her family and friends.
Jamie Cox is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a native of Southern Utah. Jamie graduated from Southern Utah University in 2010 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and went on to pursue her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Graceland University. After graduating in 2013 she began working with us at Cedar Valley Medical Clinic.
During her Nursing career she obtained experience in medical-surgical, oncology and infusion services. As a Nurse Practitioner she provides services to those of all ages. She particularly enjoys pediatric care, Women’s Health, mental health care, preventative health care and weight management.
Jamie currently lives in Cedar City with her husband, three children and one dog. In her downtime her hobbies include fitness, reading, exploring, concerts, traveling and of course time with her family.
Justin is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Utah University and has worked on the medical/surgical and pediatrics unit at the Cedar City Hospital for the past seven years. During that time, he went back to school at Western Governors University and graduated with his Master’s degree in Nursing Education and then a Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Weber State University. He continues to teach part-time at Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State University) and is excited to start at Cedar Valley Medical Clinic. He enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and hopes to make an impact in patients’ lives by improving overall wellness and meeting them where they are on their journey to better health. Justin enjoys living in Cedar City with his wife, two kids, beloved dog, and temperamental cat. He is an avid board gamer and can often be found at game nights or tournaments playing Star Wars Armada.
